Elle is a nurse that meets Sheikh Akbar when he shows up at her hospital. He lives his life on the dark side, but recognizes the light in Elle. Akbar needs her. They balance out each other and there's an immediate connection. This was a fantastic book that I couldn't recommend more. It has humor, intrigue, mystical aspects that I loved and some slightly kinky dom/sub sex that was hot. You need to read this!I received an ARC copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

It is an interesting read. You have a man that is used to being in control and living on the darker side. He meets a woman that gives him hope that there is something more for him. She really takes some chances and it gets wild. He knows what he wants in the bedroom too. It is good journey for the reader.

This was an ARC for me. My review is that the book was confusing at best and very twisted. Some of the sex scenes were very dark. Elle and her mother just followed blindly along to whatever Akbar said. But he had finally found the one woman he was willing to have sex with and not wear a condom. Clarissa was one sick sister. who thinks it is sexy to have someone stabbed?

I did not enjoy this story as much as other stories by Ms. Winters. The back story to Akbar and his arrival at Elle's hospital is unclear and the initial connection between the two seems overblown and unauthentic. I was also uncomfortable with the violent physicality between Akbar and Elle at times in particular the face slap. The connection over time between Elle and the women in her family was interesting although it seemed repetitive and a little vague at times. Overall, the story had a great deal of potential but unfortunately for me, it just didn't quite work.
These Sheikh books by Annabelle Winters seem to be getting better and better. I liked this one quite a bit. The sex scenes are pretty darn hot and the storyline got better the farther into the book that I got. I think the viewpoint should have remained between Elle and Akbar instead of throwing the crazy ex, the brother, etc into the mix. It was a little distracting. I guess I would say the writing is a somewhat uneven. In some parts of the story it's really good and others a little less so. I would definitely be down for reading the next book by this author though, because I did enjoy it.

Stockings for the Sheikh is a quick read. It is has humor, drama, and romance that allowed me to get lost in the story. This story weaves a tale of light and dark, as well as the search for balance. Eleanor (Elle) is the light to Akbar's darkness. The dynamic between the two of them is engrossing. Their journey towards happiness is entertaining. This story is enjoyable, offering insight into the dual nature of people, and is definitely worth the read.
This is a very different kind of story, one that I was not expecting. Annabelle delves into the world of a very dark billionaire sheikh and a light happy nurse. He is dark to her light. I read this in one sitting happy that every page had a twist or turn. As usual Ms. Winters writes a surprising tale of “opposites attract.” I really liked how they were so very different but still found each other in this tale. This is an adults 18 + only book. I recommend this novella to anyone who wants a good, darkly sexual romance.

The subtitle ‘The Nurse From Nashville’ is a well chosen one, not only because it shares an integral part of the plot but also that it shows the good-natured aspect of Annabelle’s writing style – real, in the present, possible but also a little link with fantasy. For example, the grounded aspect of our main character is touched on by the opening sequence - “One more,” said Eleanor Easton, leaning over the front of the registration desk and craning her neck to see the screen. “Come on, Tammy. It’s Christmas Eve. Besides, there’s nobody here!” Tammy shook her head, her dark bob-cut barely moving. She glanced past Eleanor at the silent glass front doors of the hospital before smiling and looking back up at Eleanor’s excited round face. “OK, Elle. But come around the desk so you don’t have to bend over the counter like that.” “I like this position,” said Elle, going up on her toes and leaning farther down, feeling her thick calves flex tight beneath those high-compression stockings she wore under her standard-issue pink scrubs so she wouldn’t get varicose veins from standing all day. “It stretches my hamstrings.” Tammy took another look past Eleanor and then winked. “And the reflection of your butt in the glass is stretching my imagination.’
